Call for entries - MY NEIGHBORHOOD!
Come participate in...
O MEU BAIRRO
MY NEIGHBORHOOD
This year ́s Erasmus exhibition is centered on the subject of neighborhood. More particularly,
the exhibition wants to focus on how our identities are in part constructed by our
surroundings. How we live, how we think, what we think, our emotions, our languages, our
beliefs..... how much of this do we share with others around us? Do we lose our identities if
we change our surroundings?
Any student who is studying under the FBAUP Erasmus program, or has done it within the
last year, can participate (both foreign students in Belas Artes, Porto, and Porto students
studying abroad).
Students can produce work for the exhibition based on the proposed subject, but they can
also submit work they have already developed, as long as it fits the subject. Diversity of
media, sizes and approaches is encouraged! Installation, painting, illustration, digital, video,
sculpture, photography, music, etc, etc, etc...
If you are not in Porto when the exhibition opens, you can post your work along with set-up
instructions, or you can leave the work with one of your colleagues and it willl be mailed back
to you.
The prize will by awarded by a juri of four FBAUP teachers and a representative of Reitoria.
The exhibition concept and set-up is coordinated by Julio Dolbeth (julio.dolbeth@fba.up.pt)
Any questions? Please contact Julio or the Erasmus office (erasmus@fba.up.pt)
Calendar:
preparatory meeting - April 10
registration deadline - April 24
exhibition set-up - May 4, 5, 8
exhibition opening - May 9, 5:00 pm
exhibition closing - May 24
